The Martin Foundation to Host “Honoring Those Who Serve” Community Day of Service
November 14 event at Zinn Park will unite hunger relief, essential resources and community service while recognizing outgoing elected officials and community leaders for years of dedicated service
ANNISTON, AL — The Martin Foundation will bring residents, volunteers, faith leaders, businesses and community organizations together for “Honoring Those Who Serve: Community Day of Service, Hunger Relief & Public Service Recognition” on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Zinn Park.
The event will take place rain or shine and is designed to put service into action by meeting immediate needs while creating an opportunity for the community to recognize individuals who have dedicated years of their lives to public and community service.
Throughout the afternoon, The Martin Foundation and participating community partners will provide hot meals and groceries, winter clothing and blankets, hygiene items and essential supplies, community resources and services, along with opportunities for prayer, fellowship and hope.
At the heart of the Community Day of Service is a simple mission: serve people, strengthen community and honor those who have served.
As part of the day, The Martin Foundation will recognize and thank outgoing elected officials and community leaders for their dedication, leadership and years of service to the community.
The recognition is intended to bring the community together in gratitude for public and community service and acknowledge the time, commitment and personal sacrifice that accompany years of serving others.
Regardless of title or position, meaningful service leaves an impact. “Honoring Those Who Serve” creates an opportunity to simply say thank you.
The Community Day of Service will also focus on some of the most immediate needs facing individuals and families as colder weather approaches.
Attendees will have access to:
- Hot meals and groceries
- Winter clothing and blankets
- Hygiene items and essential supplies
- Resources and community services
- Prayer, fellowship and encouragement
The Martin Foundation believes community service is strongest when organizations, businesses, churches and individuals work together. The November 14 gathering is intended to create that kind of collective impact—bringing resources directly to people while strengthening relationships throughout the community.
The Martin Foundation is inviting the entire community to participate.
Individuals can volunteer their time, donate food or essential supplies, make a financial contribution, or sponsor a meal or community service.
Churches, schools, businesses, civic organizations and other groups are also encouraged to participate together and make the Community Day of Service a collective demonstration of compassion and community responsibility.
Whether through giving, volunteering, sponsoring or simply showing up to serve a neighbor, everyone has an opportunity to be part of the difference.
