SANDERSVILLE, GA — Sandersville is coming together for an afternoon centered on what matters most: Community, Connection & Care.
The inaugural First HarvestFest: "A Celebration of COmmunity, COnnection & Care" will take place Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. on the field at the Historic T.J. Elder Community Center, 316 Hall Street, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.
Designed as a celebration of the people, families, organizations and resources that strengthen the community, First HarvestFest invites residents of all ages to gather for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, food, music, education and access to valuable community resources.
At its heart, HarvestFest is a simple but important call to action:
- Come together.
- Connect with one another.
- Access resources.
- Celebrate the good happening in our community.
Throughout the afternoon, attendees can enjoy good food and good music, meet celebrated authors from the community, connect with healthcare professionals and community organizations, and receive giveaways designed to help individuals and families prepare for the upcoming winter season.
HarvestFest will also create opportunities for residents to learn, ask questions and leave with practical information they can use in their everyday lives.
Community education and resources will include information surrounding anxiety and emotional wellness, healthcare and insurance, voting and civic information, cooking and nutrition, along with additional healthcare services, educational materials and merchandise.
The event is intentionally designed to bring resources directly into the community in an environment that feels welcoming, engaging and celebratory.
A Celebration of the Good
First HarvestFest is about more than a single afternoon. It is about reminding neighbors of the power that already exists when a community chooses to show up for one another.
At a time when families are navigating challenges ranging from healthcare and household expenses to emotional wellness and access to trustworthy information, HarvestFest creates a space where care meets community and information meets connection.
Residents are encouraged to bring their families, invite their neighbors and spend the afternoon celebrating everything that makes the Sandersville community special.
